Craig Howe brings more than two decades of digital strategy and brand marketing experience to his role as CEO and Founder of Rebel Ventures. Craig originally launched the business as a consultancy in 2012 to advise US sports leagues, global sports franchises and early stage technology companies on how to harness and maximize their digital potential. Rebel Ventures has since grown to become a global leader in the intersection of sports + digital technology, working with iconic franchises such as San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bulls, Boston Red Sox, and Liverpool FC to optimize digital strategy and revenue generation. Rebel Ventures has also invested in, or advised for more than a dozen early stage digital startups such as SnappyTV (sold to Twitter), Visage, and Blayze Technologies (sold to Vobile).
Craig’s trajectory into digital leadership stemmed from his role as a global marketing executive for acclaimed video game and entertainment publishers Electronic Arts and Universal Interactive. After leaving the publishing side of the business in 2002, Mr. Howe started Rocket XL, one of the first social media agencies, which he sold to V7 International in 2008. During more than a decade as the CEO of Rocket XL (now Dare Digital), Craig helped devise social media strategies for Fortune 100 global brands and organizations such as Unilever, InBev, Lexus, Samsung, Kraft/Cadbury, and the United Nations.
Craig has a BA in Business from the University of Colorado, and participated in an adjunct MBA program at Stanford while working at Electronic Arts.
