Brian is the CEO of Jail Education Solutions (JES), which provides tablet-enabled education and vocational training to incarcerated people through an incentivized, self-driven learning platform. The goal is to help improve their work opportunities upon release, reducing recidivism rates.
Brian was in his first year at Northwestern University Law School when he began work on a Social Impact Bond initiative for the largest single-site jail in Chicago. This exposure inspired him to formulate the JES platform, which is now operational in several correctional facilities. JES has won several awards, including first place at Chicago Tech Week 2014 and from the Kellogg Innovation Network, as well as grants from the MacArthur Foundation and others.
Brian earned a BS in Economics and Business from Brigham Young University.
